Student Visa (Subclass 500)

The Australian Student Visa (Subclass 500) allows international students to study full-time in Australia. The visa validity generally aligns with the duration of the enrolled course. Holders of this visa can legally live, study, and work limited hours in Australia.

 

Basic Application Requirements

1. Age Requirements

  • Applicants for primary and secondary school programs must meet the relevant age requirements Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

  • Applicants must have received an offer from an Australian education provider and hold a valid Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)


2. Financial Capacity

  • Applicants must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, living expenses, and travel costs

English Language Proficiency

  • Depending on the course and nationality, applicants may be required to provide English test results (e.g. IELTS overall score of 5.5 or above)


3. Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

  • Applicants and accompanying family members must hold valid Overseas Student Health Cover


4. Character Requirements

  • Applicants must meet character requirements and may be required to provide police clearance certificates
