This visa category includes four main streams:

Tourist Stream

For travelling to Australia for holidays, leisure, or visiting family and friends.

• If applying inside Australia, the applicant must be in Australia at the time the visa is granted.

• If applying outside Australia, the applicant must be outside Australia at the time of visa grant.

Business Visitor Stream

For short-term business visits to Australia, including attending conferences, business negotiations, or meetings. Applicants must be outside Australia both at the time of application and visa grant.

Sponsored Family Stream

For visiting family members in Australia.

• A sponsor is required.

• The sponsor may be asked to provide a security bond.

• Applicants must be outside Australia at the time of application and visa grant.

• Applicants cannot apply for another visa while in Australia under this stream.
