Communication with the Sponsor in Australia

Unless the applicant has appointed a registered migration agent, the Parent Visa Centre will generally send all correspondence and processing requests directly to the sponsor in Australia.

This approach allows sponsors to:

  • Communicate more efficiently with their parents;

  • Assist in meeting Departmental requirements; and

  • Stay informed of the application’s progress.

To enable this communication method, parents applying for migration should request their sponsoring child to complete and sign Part N of Form 47PA.

If this section is not completed, the Parent Visa Centre will continue to send correspondence directly to the applicant overseas.
